  1. I think you're guess is right. I bought one as a gift three weeks ago or so and it was numbered in the mid 1800s.
  2. Many many more happy ones!
  3. Hope you both enjoy your birthday nights, and many more awesome returns!
  4. I wouldn't count any chickens til they hatch out of a Nessa post.
  5. Ruta Maya medium roast, dripped via a #2 filter, with a bit of whipping cream.

    Kenny Burrell

Okay, we all understand Brian's position clearly now. Perhaps even more clearly in this new more conventional less uber hip style of his. Soul Call is a really good one, in my opinion. Kenny has the most beautiful tone, warm, full, consistent top to bottom, and fluid supple lines. What a player!
  7. In at least 3 different cities I've lived in - in the NE and SE - Kingston Trio records are/were available everywhere for 25 cents an armload. Okay, I find that very hard to believe, but it's no skin off my butt.
  8. That may be a huge exaggeration or it may be just a regional thing. I've never seen more than two of their lps in thrft stores here in Austin over the last twenty-eight years, and I have been known to frequent many and always look through the lp bins.
  9. I've never encountered anyone who didn't gain some weight when they quit smoking. Nicotine is a stimulant as James mentions, and your metabolism is increased if you smoke probably more than half a pack a day. (I smoked two packs a day for a long time). I gained weight, but all the women who love me were happy because I was too thin from birth til 35.
  10. Johnny Smith, disc 3 I was going to put on the Eldridge as it's been discussed here lately, but I saw the Smith and that beautiful guitar sound just went off in my head and I had to play it.
  11. Happy birthday to l'artiste!
  12. 13 out of 20. How did I not know Oh Henry?
  13. Hey, congrats (to you both). I quit eighteen years ago next week and it's one of the handful of things I've done that I'm proudest of. James, keep the strong will to quit. I quit cold turkey after eighteen years of smoking and it was that will to quit that got me through. I was damned determined to stop!
  14. The live version of Sade's "Jezebel" from the DVD. It's very cool and it had a magical effect on someone else.
  15. Many many more happy ones!
  16. Monday's new one "Nexus" is available now. . . at least it was mailed to subscribers. Quite nice!
  17. I have that same package, 90. I have been selecting albums featuring Ellington, Monk or Mingus in the titles (by others). Mostly pays off in dividends.
  18. Many more happy ones Peter!
  19. The Complete RCA and Columbia Recordings of Una Mae Carlisle. I asked. . .not going to happen (that's not what I was exactly told, but if you read between the lines. . .) It would have been a great booklet!
  20. Can't wait til The Spirit arrives.
  21. Yes Dave, thanks. I'm visiting my parents and brothers and sister in law, nieces, etc. in Ohio. Great to be here with family, beautiful weather.
  22. I have several of these. I'm not at home for a few more days and can't remember all the details. I do know that all those I ahve I really like. Later Chet, good Chet, if you're a Chet fan. I can recommend the NDR Big Band and Oh Crazy Moon strongly.
