  1. I like this one. It's got great sound as well as good performances. http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/waters_ethel...641/album.jhtml I'm a big fan of the movie "Cabin in the Sky" which features Ethel and she does a magnificent job. As does Lena Horne. And there's Pops and Duke performing as well. Fantastic!
  2. Yeah. LPs are just not a route I follow. Been there, done that.
  3. Seven more albums are now available in brand new (excellent) remasterings, although as straight albums only. The choice is hard for some; if you don't have the box set. . . so much is out in new sound. Though I have the box set AND the new releases and have to say the box set has perfectly acceptable sound, good early digital sound.
  4. Can't get the Four Fresh from Mosaic any longer. Probably was the Dinah Washington.
  5. Wish I could enjoy the Herman Select as much as you guys do. I've had the original lps, I have the Select, I like the music, but it doesn't flip me the way it seems to flip others. Right now, Johnny Smith, disc one. World's most beautiful sounding guitar, or at least so I think often when listening.
  6. Be sure to at least seriously consider the Monks, and some of the Hodes and Bechet dates. They're essential Blue Notes.
  7. I had a rare opportunity to have a dinner with one of my oldest friends and made her pecan encrusted salmon, guacamole (and chips, she's an avacado nut!) and green peas.

  9. I have many of them. I don't really want to have the complete collection. 10. Oh hell yes.
  11. When I was in Houston for over a year over a few years. . . the iPod was my music source and I appreciated it so much. Since I returned in October after Helen passed, and wasn't able to listen to music at work in the location they moved me to, and then retired, I haven't used it. NOR missed it! But they're fascinating machines.
  12. They still have radio?
  13. Joe Pass, disc 1 Albert Stinson. . .what a talent.
  14. Many many more happy returns Bertrand!
  15. You mean US cd "light"? They've been out in Japan, all five volumes.
  16. First one I bought was a Lateef title. . . which was actually "Bird is Free," totatlly mislabled. Confusing at first indeed!
  17. I think so too.
  18. My late wife and I almost made ten years married and eight living together beforehand. . . . We knew each other since September 1973.
  19. As noted above you should be fine. I would worry about a lot of humidity if the situation is prolonged, that could cause you problems when use is resumed.
  20. Who is still around and deliverin'! Who the fuck watches Letterman? Which is just to say, not me. But I know others do.
  21. Don't despair. I honestly believe it will come out one day. Well, this free shipping is a good deal. . . it tempted me into placing three sequential orders over the last seven days or so. . .and means when they arrive I will have copies of all the in print big boxes. I predict that's a nice feeling.
