  1. The Clarke Boland Big Band and Small Group Mosaic. . . . No wait a minute, it's just a bunch of new Rearward/Schemata cds.
  2. "Black California" was NOT on cd with all tracks. "Black California Vol.2" was on a Savoy/Denon cd with some tracks removed.
  3. I've recently gotten both seasons of Joan of Arcadia.
  4. It sounded fantastic on vinyl back when released.
  5. Hope it was great! Many more happy happy returns!
  6. The thread does not have "jazz" in the title! Alan Dawson? I'm a fan. I like him more than I like Booker, to be honest. He was imaginative and interactive. Taught Tony Williams a lot. . . .
  7. Actually Laton, these were also available in 16 bit jewelcase editions . . . at least these, maybe more of the listed ones. • Paul Bley: Footloose! • Bill Barron: The Tenor Stylings of Bill Barron • Valdo Williams: New Advanced Jazz • Charles Moffett: The Gift
  8. By the way, www.worldsrecords.com has the 12 DETS volumes before this on sale for 16 each!
  9. Right Mark. . . I saw that I can expect mine near the end of July!
  10. Hoppy, the DETS is there, search by Artist "Ellington," then sort by date offered.
  11. Worlds has the DETS Vol. 13, if you search by Artist "Ellington" and sort by date offered it comes up. I placed an order yesterday. They don't have the "New York, New York" YET.
  12. Oh my gosh! Are we in an episode of "Race Ghost!" :bwallace2:
  13. Hope it was a great one, and many many happy returns!
  14. Well now I actually do buy gas, luckily it's for my Fat Bob motorcycle and I just calculated I got 38 mpg last tank. . . .
  15. I remember those clubs but not sure I was ever in them.
  16. Kerby Lane now has three locations. . . the original on Kerby Lane, one on South Lamar sort of just south of Oltorf, and the third on Guadalupe, where Conan's Pizza used to be on Guadalupe. The original is still the best, though the Guadalupe location is very good and I end up going there more often. (Though I live closer to the original!)
  17. Well, I guess I'm happy Cook won. Glad it's over. I generally like this show til it gets down to three or four.
  18. Louis Armstrong was referred to by friends and family and referred to himself as "Lewis" rather than "Louiee" as far as I can tell from years of reading and listening, so that pronunciation is in fact "correct."
  19. Yusef Lateef, "Lover Man," Prayer to the East, Savoy. Just some of my favorite tenor playing by anyone ever.
  20. Many many more happy ones!
  21. Me too. I think he's really Ed Helms in a Witness Protection Program.
  22. Yes, I've even decided to invest in mosquito netting to put over the couch on the porch! Shawn is going to stay with me for a bit and I'm hoping to interest him in renting an apartment at either of the great complexes right near me (the Triangle or the Central Park ones). I think he's going to be very happy here.
