Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool
Cliff Englewood replied to Van Basten II's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Agreed and he's good mates with Torres as well, he would have been perfect for Liverpool, but alas :rcry The real reason Ronaldo went to Real (enough r's for ye) Endorsements block a 'major factor' in Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid How the mighty have fallen; Agents offer Michael Owen to clubs with help of 34-page brochure -

Yea, he definitely wants to go there as well. The last Galacticos era didn't end all that well which is why Real are in the position they are in now. -

It's totally nuts, I didn't think that one would go through to be honest, but it looks like it was all set-up last year. Some good articles here; guardian.co.uk/football -
And I thought that the "David S. Ware needs a new kidney" thread should have been posted in "Offering and Looking For... "

And listing who died in the Artists thread isn't??? For me it would be a different deal seeing RIP every time I saw the Forums. Just my opinion. You wouldn't have to call it RIP.

I suggested this a while back, can't find the thread/post now, and no one was into it. I still think it's a good idea. :tup

Yes it's very good and if you have difficulty tracking down the single cd it's available on this fairly recently re-issued 2-fer. This is the one I would love to get; Nobody Else But Me I've got that last one! And it's good! (I've got to warn you though that I don't have a Getz album that I dislike.) Oh I have no problem believing it's good, I have a few other live recordings by this particular group and I would love to get this one, the Amazon prices are a bit nuts, I know I'll get it somewhere in the end though.

I'm fairly sure I've seen the Ellington in one or two shops over here, next time I'm in the City I'll have a look. -

That's a pity, it'll make that belated mid-life crisis a bit more difficult to pursue, I mean the leather jacket will be totally redundant for a start. I'm not going to take the bait. I'm just ignoring your silly comments from now on. Absolutely, take the high moral ground, it's your natural home.

You're not alone, I very much dislike the name and would have advised against it. While I want to believe that these releases are being put out there to preserve Art's legacy and to expose a lot of Art's fantastic performances that were never released, the name gives the impression, whether true or not, that it's only about money and milking what is now a "commodity". Yea, I don't know why she wasn't doing this kind of thing earlier, when there may have been even more of a market for them, back in the late 90's early 2000's. The other thing I don't like is that they are live releases from an era of his career that is hardly starved of live material as it is.

Bill Evans, Turn out the Stars, Best Buy $13.99
Cliff Englewood replied to jazzbo's topic in Re-issues
It doesn't really say anything about "new" re-mastering on the one I have, it says "Original location recording, remix and digital mastering: Malcolm Addey." No "re" in there. Which is that, Cliff--the Japanese release or the new Nonesuch release? Sorry, should have said it was the Nonesuch release. It says the exact same thing in the booklet of the original Warner release. So the Nonesuch adds nothing new. Another mystery solved. Now let’s go down to the old Pirates cave and see what those no good smugglers are up too. :excited: -

Not really, I'm not that much in love with Ireland, especially the weather. It's just there are lots of nicer places than the USA. Or should that be USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA.

I'm well used to the Irish "summer" by now, it's very similar to all the other seasons, but, after having lived in the USA for a couple of years, I can assure you there is nothing there I would be jealous of. In fact, unless you're from a Third World nation there is very little to be jealous of at all.

Disc 1 has Art with Warne Marsh!!! But then - this is probably originally from Contemporary, and has already been released(?). Q Yes this peaked my interested also, but like you, I presume it will be the stuff from here; and here; but maybe even from here;

No, you're not alone there in your dislike of the name, but I'll raise you one, I don't really like Laurie herself, at least from the way she writes about herself from her time with Pepper. I always get a bit of a Yoko Ono-ish vibe about her. Maybe it's just me.

Thanks, I had totally forgotten that one; I will have to dig it out now, wherever it is.

Wow, pompous, pretentious and sanctimonious, and a bit of baby to boot. What's the air like up there???

That's a bit mad/bad/sad that the Ellington is OOP already, that's slightly less that a year since it was released, and why is it gone if the others still available??? I thought the Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong sets would have gone first. -
Gee, I see your pompous and pretentious personality is where it always was and judging by how overly sensitive you are to someone disagreeing with you, I'd say yes, you ARE the new Allen! Sorry to disappoint, but there never was a "hostility campaign", little or large. I've been grown up for quite some time and I have never shoved anyone in a hall, even in school. And calling someone dude is a bit, well, ye know.

I have the "Yesterdays" on Pablo and would also recommend it, a good live set, I would love to get my hands on the 2 Levey's.
