  1. Kind of amazing: Sit back, close your eyes, relax, and picture yourself in the beautiful surroundings of Newport, Rhode Island during the summer of 1964. Here is the entire day's worth of music from July 4th of that year.
  2. Check out 'Animals', Bev. I think you'd enjoy it quite a bit actually. I don’t think any of PT’s albums are fusion, new age, or filler-ish. Perhaps you should listen to Porcupine Tree’s music before pronouncing judgment about them being “samey”. P-Tree will be here in a couple of weeks. I screwed up and didn't get advanced reserved seating. It's too late for that now. I may still get ticket in Gen Admission and deal with the "floor crowd".
  3. Oh, yeahhhhhhhhhh. It's a REAL burner!
  4. Good luck with everything, guys. Sorry I was never able to see the band, so the albums will have to suffice.
  5. I contacted eMusic after reading and corroborating your post. They said they would look into it, yet today I see they put several new 1201 titles on their website, again with tracks missing. They claim the record company is responsible for the error, but it's their decision to keep selling incomplete albums. It is indeed the label that decides what to put up, how much to charge (for album-only downloads), and what to "fix" or not. What you say is indeed true, but what eMusic sells is up to eMusic. Knowingly selling something that is incomplete is just plain wrong. On a more positive note, check out fellow board member David Weiss' latest release Snuck In. A live date featuring David on trumpet, J.D. Allen on tenor sax, Nir Felder on guitar, Matt Clohesy on bass, and Jamire Williams on drums - it's a burner! And it's only 5 credits! :: OK.........got the Weiss album. Thanks for the tip! (kinda sux for him to get only 5 credits worth of payment, though)
  6. I just may do that.
  7. I recently got a Sony BluRay that came free with my Sony TV. Haven't used it much for video and I don't have any BluRay disks yet. Been thinking I need to get some. B&N is having a 1/2 off sale on Criterions - probably a good place to start.
  8. There must have been a dozen different pieces in the NY Times today. Crazy!
  9. Guitarissimo
  10. I was in The City last week to watch the semi-pro Giants vs. the [hated] Dodgers. Long story short, I went through Priceline and got a deal on the SFO Hyatt. So I called ahead to ask about the temperatures. They told me it had been hot, you know, in the mid-70s to low 80s. Well, there ya go! Perfect.
  11. on the chilly side.... probably mid-50's this evening.
  12. Have a GREAT one, Barak!
  13. WHOA! That's crazy. I'm DL-ing it right now. I think it's all interviews (not music), but still WELL worth it. This is a little startling (!): 62 Total Tracks, 1500:28 Total Length
  14. I suggest reading the manual. They usually provide solutions to the most frequent problems. That's where the trouble STARTS (for me, anyway).
  15. I've had nothing but trouble with wireless routers. And the more I try to troubleshoot, the worse it gets (and more confusing). I suggest getting some professional help.
  16. I highly recommend "The Baggy’s Rehearsal Sessions". It's a set of loose jamming from the rehearsals for the New Years' Band of Gypsys shows. They're having a great time and it shows in the music. A few of the tunes were previously released on the "Loose Ends" collection.
  17. If that happens - I'm coming DOWN!
  18. I don't think many of those players let you change the battery, do they? My Zen doesn't. But then again, I've had it for about 5 years and it still works fine.
  19. The Warfield again? I might have to go..........again. I know the album much better now. I think it had only been out a few days last time they were here. Agggggg, San Antonio........they're gettin' close to you!
  20. That's a good one - when ELP still had some integrity. Once Keith gave up the B3 for full-time synths, they went downhill pretty fast.
  21. That IS a good album. I saw them twice in '08 which definitely "rekindled the kind of intense enthusiasm I felt for them in the 1980s", too. They're such a solid, close-knit outfit and always seem to be enjoying what they do. I also realized that overall they are a much better live experience than many of their albums (especially mid-period).
  22. A nice P. Tree vid from 2008
  23. Nice.
  24. Cowon looks interesting. I must say, I've never heard of it, but I'll definitely check it out.
  25. As the person who made the last post here and talked up the Zen......I'm now looking into getting a Zune (32GB HD). They're very impressive looking. Much smaller than my Zen and apparently much more functional. The few reviews I've read make it sound like the ideal music player.
