  1. Music was much cheaper back then. I saw Jimi Hendrix in 1968 for $3.50.
  2. I just ordered a Squeezebox Radio Music Player from Amazon. Have seen a few good reviews of it.
  3. Wow - Pure Narcotic and the full version of Even Less! I can't make the San Antonio show next week unfortunately. Gonna regret it even more if they play tracks like that. I hear ya ...
  4. Well, I blew it and didn't see them last week. After reading this review I'm really sorry I missed it. Oh, well ... Definitely next time.
  5. THIS one is hysterical:

    Curtis Amy

I picked up that Curtis Amy Select last year, but honestly haven't given it much time. I'll pull it out this weekend and take it for a spin.

    Jimi Hendrix

Some incendiary Jimi from the Devonshire Downs Pop Festival
  8. I picked up the "Deluxe" edition of Lucinda Williams' "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" for a pretty good price recently.
  9. Not sure about CDs, but I think MP3s are getting thicker.
  10. On the flip side of things, we've had a colder than normal summer here in SF - 50s-60s pretty much every day.
  11. I believe the Austin Motel is known for it's sign, not to mention that it's a stone's throw from the Continental Club.
  12. Rock on, Lon! Hope your day was great.
  13. I would apportion most of my time to Austin. That way if you DO have some spare time, you can: a) hang with some "O" members, b) see some great music, or c) have a good meal.
  14. Just got tix to see Zooid at SF Jazz in a couple of months. Looking forward to it.
  15. My problem is that I don't really like "modern action flicks". (but I'm sure they look GREAT)
  16. Just got P-Tree's "Anesthetize" in Blu-Ray today. Watched some of it - very nice/very clean. Can't wait to see the whole thing. BTW - it's available and reasonably priced at CD Universe if anyone is trying to track this down.
  17. Another trippy video from the Sadies latest album.
  18. Wayne Snorter, Hilly Biggins, Puke Dearson, etc., etc. ...
  19. Just got a reminder email from True Blue about the deleted BNs. Includes a CLASSIC BN-like typo, too! Kenny Dorham - Trompeta Toccata (RVG Remaster) $12.98 Tompeta Toccatta, made in September 1964 would be the final recorded collaboration by Dorham and Hoe Henderson. This one features soulful, but challenging originals and brilliant solo work from all. "Night Watch" is a bluesy, lyrical masterpiece
  20. Makes perfect sense to ME!
  21. You can't have an instro rock page without anything by Booker T & the MGs.
  22. Alright Buzz! We want a review of the show! Will do! (if I go)
  23. Kind of amazing: Sit back, close your eyes, relax, and picture yourself in the beautiful surroundings of Newport, Rhode Island during the summer of 1964. Here is the entire day's worth of music from July 4th of that year.
  24. Check out 'Animals', Bev. I think you'd enjoy it quite a bit actually. I don’t think any of PT’s albums are fusion, new age, or filler-ish. Perhaps you should listen to Porcupine Tree’s music before pronouncing judgment about them being “samey”. P-Tree will be here in a couple of weeks. I screwed up and didn't get advanced reserved seating. It's too late for that now. I may still get ticket in Gen Admission and deal with the "floor crowd".
  25. Oh, yeahhhhhhhhhh. It's a REAL burner!
