  5. I have vinyl of "The Rajah" and the credits are correct - Billy Higgings (d) & Paul Chambers (b).
  6. Harold plays regularly with George Coleman and is on a number of his albums, too. And let's not forget his incendiary piano on Lee Morgan's "Live at the Lighthouse" set.
  7. Chris Mullen Don Pullen Victor Wooten
  8. O-Lan Shepard Sam Shepard Sam Sheppard
  9. Most of his films are character studies rather than plot-driven vehicles. I don't think he's making statements about the human condition or the fate of man, here. You could call that "style over substance" I suppose, but that would be independant of the quality of the films.
  10. Harold Budd Budd Johnson Buddy Guy
  11. Tolliver - disk #1 (just arrived today )
  12. I compeletely disagree. But if that's the way you feel, go nuts. Your loss.

  15. I have a real exciting album from the 70's by Hal Galper on Enja called "Now Hear This". It's a quartet album with Galper on piano, Hino - trumpet, Cecil McBee - bass and Tony Williams - drums. If anything, it sounds like a high energy McCoy Tyner album. If you can find it, get it. I don't know its availability, though.
  16. Robert Bork Anita Hill Arlen Spector
  17. I saw "Broken Flowers". While I don't think it's necessarily one of his best, it's still miles ahead of most of the junk that gets released to the theaters every week.
  18. My Select arrived today. Can't wait to get home and listen to it tonight.
  19. I've been wondering about that myself. Couldn't figure out if it was because a lot of that music has been released since they went OOP, or what.
  20. John Wayne Wayne Kramer Fred "Sonic" Smith
  21. I forgot about "Night On Earth". That one has a lot of interesting bits, too.
  22. Ben Dover Eileen Dover Skip Dover
  23. Oddly enough, I think "Ghost Dog" is the only one of his films I haven't seen. He's always entertaining and his sense of space is VERY refreshing. Where most films try to cram as much action and/or dialog as possible into each minute, he let's everything flow at a much more realistic pace. Great, subtle sense of humor, too.
  24. Carroll O'Connor Chris Connor Chuck Connors
  25. Mermen - "Krill Slippin' " Cecil Taylor - "Conquistador" [RVG]
