  1. Man, at the used record store yesterday they had some old "Peaches" record crates for sale...$20 each!!! Seem high to you, too?
  2. Ummm, because he could snap your neck like twig...just by looking at you... It was his attitude...he was a motherfucker!
  3. Thanks, gents. I never did pick up those cds, but recently picked up a vinyl reissue of the original 3 Blind Mice on UA. I wonder if between that record and the "Live Messengers" lp set, do I have all the contents of the 2 cd set? Perhaps missing some alts? Edit: Answered it myself with a little looking...Looks like I've got it all with the exception of Wayne's "Children of the Night." Am I really missing something special by not having this track?
  4. Red was late to the session. That's why Miles played on Sid's Ahead. Surely contributed to him before fired shortly thereafter...
  5. Where do the sets that were issued on the mid-70's Blue Note lp set "Live Messengers" turn up again? I know the 4th side with the 3 tracks with Lou & Brownie turn up as bonus tracks on the RVGs, but how 'bout the first 3 sides? Recorded at the Village Gate and somewhere else, I believe... Did they ever get put out on cd?
  6. Happy Birthday Gary! Hope it's a goodie...
  7. Your post sucked me in, Wolff... My order: John Jenkins: John Jenkins with Kenny Burrell (Mono) (Classic Records LP BLP 1573) New Clearance 50% CLEAN-OUT $15.00 Strauss: Waltzes (Reiner/CSO) (Classic Records LP LSC-2500) New $12.00 Strauss: Till Eulenspiegel (Reiner / VPO) (Classic Records LP LSC-2077) New $12.00 Sonny Clark: Dial S for Sonny (MONO) (Classic Records LP BN-1570) New $29.99 Total= $68.99 Great deal! Thanks!
  8. Get the live album I, Eye, Aye next. That version of "Volunteered Slavery" blows the studio version out of the water. There is also a video release of this same show, which goes by a different name. I think it is called "The One Man Twins." ← It will be mine... Thanks for the recommendation!
  9. I'm just getting into RRK as well. So far I have: Rip, Rig & Panic Domino The Inflated Tear Live in Copenhagen Blacknuss ...but my favorite has been "Volunteered Slavery." One side studio, one side live. It's incredible. Actually, it's a motherfucker!
  10. "You Get More Bounce with Curtis Counce!" - Analogue Productions reissue. Jesus! This sounds freakin' incredible! Can't beat those Contemporary productions...
  11. Bennie Green - Back On The Scene - Classic 200gm mono...I splurged! It's great!
  12. What he said goes ditto for me too... I guess you can forget about the "Pay It Forward" discs as well...
  13. Short answers: - RVG had nothing to do with these remasters; - I guess you could call these "24-bit remastered Blue Note Works" reissues; - yes, jewel cases. Did you see the earlier lists with the TOCJ-6400 ~ TOCJ-6600 reissues in this series? I posted those last year and earlier this year. ← So, how are they? Cuz I love the BN Works issues... Surely you've picked up some of these, eh?
  14. Oh, and before "The Avant-Garde" I was spinnin': My avatar, "Unit Structures." Sealed (until recently) original stereo pressing. It's so beautiful!
  15. "The Avant-Garde" by John Coltrane & Don Cherry - from the Heavyweight Champ boxed set... Awesome! However, track 2 on Side B "The Invisible" is in mono. Not that I'm really complaining. It sounds marvelous. I'll have to check my cd of this set to check if it's mono as well... Did you guys hear my wife got me a new Music Hall MMF-5 turntable for my recent birthday? She rules!!!
  16. Happy Belated Birthday to Laton! Hope you had a fine day.
  17. Wait, no...this one is not... -_- I know the word he's thinking of, but I'm kinda stupid right now...
  18. All the answers are here...
  19. A couple questions: These aren't RVG's, right? These must be made from the Japanese Toshiba/EMI lp masters that they've used for the BN Works Series, correct? Jewel cases, right? This could be expensive...
  20. I just got that "Circullus" lp. Only spun one side so far, Quartet Piece #1. ...different...
  21. It's a keeper! Great in both incarnations, but I sure love my LP set. If you didn't know, the cd set has the music in chronological order on 6 cds, whereas the LP set reproduces all the original albums, including "The Coltrane Legacy" and "Alternate Takes." The previously unreleased outtakes are in a two LP set with the Scotch Tape box for the cover. I believe its a 12 LP set... Having all those beautiful covers full-size and in perfect condition is just so Deluxe...it boggles my mind...
  22. Oops, late to the party... Hope it was great, Peter.
  23. Happy B-day to Philly-Q!!! Enjoy yourself.
  24. Hey, Rosco! Have an awesome Birthday! Spend some time listening to some killer tunes...like my avatar. And you should listen to me, cuz I'm older than you.
  25. Sounds like good Birthday music to me! Will do! Thanks everyone...I'm truly blessed. And very happy. All of you are certainly a part of that. Let the partying begin!
