wow yr right, need to get one asap!

I had the one (ST 45) with "elusive Butterfly" on it in my hands once but I had been so disappointed by Lee Morgan's 45 of Midnight Cowboy that I didn't get it.  Spooky has love is Blue on the B-side, I don't know if even ST can do much with that...

itre- spooky, its a duke pearson arr., right-- it doesnt saw on the jazzdisco pg but i wouldnt be suprised.

well blue note was gonna do the midnight cowboy single with or without lee morgan, and im thinking, i think its pretty awesome that blue note went to their #1 trumpet guy for it.  it gets poo-pooh'd a lot in the morgan-canon but in one little throwaway single lee morgan sets the stage for "feels so good".  i wish it was a whole album!

---- also totally awesome that it is the only recorded collabration of Lee Morgan + Airto!!!

Today's listening:

Howard Lucraft 'Showcase For Modern Jazz' (Decca DG mono)

Colin Bates Trio 'Brew' (UK Fontana, stereo)

Don Rendell Quintet 'Space Walk' (UK Columbia, Lansdowne Series)

John Cameron 'Off Centre' (Deram, mono)

Woody Shaw - Master of the Art

That 'Master of the Art' is pretty representative as to how Woody's live groups sounded circa 1982/1983 (along with 'Lotus Flower').
