Indeed, I tend to understimate labels like Columbia, Miles a part, compared to Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside and others.

Correct. I’d buy a Riverside or a Pacific Jazz or a Vee Jay or a Prestige or an Impulse sight unseen. Columbia and other general  labels might be underestimated unless they have some big names on the cover.

What a wonderful photo of Ma Rainey on that album cover!  Her face could so easily be here now today, as if she didn't exist in the past.  It's a face that seems entirely contemporary.

Oh, that's interesting!  I had no idea that Sir Roland had recorded with Hibbler!

Oh yes, Wes with George Shearing. I still regret that I sold it when I was Young. I had purchased it a few months before, but then I was too much into more Avantgarde stuff like Dolphy and Ornette and so on, that due to lack of Money I sold it . Really sad, since I think the original George Shearing with the Montgomery Brothers is OOP. Then, during that time Maybe I was a "Snob" and it sounded to "polished" to me.....
