Rarely mentioned but some of Coltrane's absolute best playing. And also as the album cover where Trane is playing a short-shank Selmer Soloist mouthpiece! Quote

I’ve got the LP as well plus the cd for the bonus material. 1 hour ago, mjazzg said: Chet Baker - The Complete Pacific Jazz Studio Performances Of The Chet Baker Quartet With Russ Freeman [Mosaic Records, USA 1987] Working my way through this new arrival, currently on side 5. Very taken by Freeman's playing so far I like what Freeman does to Baker (whose playing I tend to like or dislike on a by-album basis depending on the sidemen). There are some quite unexpected chords in there. Not super unexpected. But enough to spin Baker off into new directions. Quote

Sadly I did not pay attention in electronics class, so I am not convinced I could fit the new cartridge myself. We live round the corner from a shop, so I've asked my wife to take it round. The kids have picked up a very endearing habit of putting records on for themselves, which may or may not be connected... Quote

I was very pleasantly surprised that I managed my last switch without wrecking anything. As a confirmed techno-idiot it was something of a first Quote

mjazzg Posted July 10, 2024 Report Posted July 10, 2024 Lloyd McNeill - Asha [Asha Recording Co. Can anyone shed any light on when it may have been released? Quote
