Art Farmer was living in Vienna/Austria from the 70´s until his death. Though he was constantly touring the world, Vienna was his homebase and he played there every year several times.

I heard him very very often. Farmer´s Market was played often. He was great ! Just a perfect musician.

I got to hear him just once at Sweet Basil. I recall he had Jerome Richardson on tenor sax.

I wish I would've had an opportunity to hear Farmer perform.  Never did.

But I'm grateful for the records.  ;)

Most records I have is those made by musicians I heard perform. I usually bought records the next day after I heard a famous musician..... that´s how I built up my little collection....

Nowadays it is also musicians I heard, mostly fellow musicians, I mean I have them their record, they have my newest album.....

Saw him twice - in Vienne/France (Jazz à Vienne) and in Göttingen (Club 'Blue Note') - bright moments!

I never got to hear him either. I'm surprised to read Gheorghe's glowing reviews of his live performances as I was told by someone who saw him later in life and they said that every time they saw him, he seemed drunk and was not playing very well.

Can't rule out exceptions, but saw Art Farmer several times during his long stay @ Wien and can confirm Gheorghe's impressions ....

Schlomovitz/Polin - Contemporary Music for Harp and Flute [Ars Nova, USA]

Initial listen to this new arrival.  With thanks to @Teasing the Koreanfor making me aware of it with a post a few weeks ago. And with thanks to @HutchFanfor his assistance in getting it to the UK. This is going to get a lot of plays.

Glad you found a copy!

Do you know when it was recorded by any chance?   I can't see any date reference on the labels or the sleeve.

Now onto,

My copy is undated, and I can't find a date on Discogs either.  The fact that it is mono may provide a clue.  Also, I have not looked into other releases on this label.  That may help also.

I saw him playing ‘later in life’ and he was perfectly sober and professional. And playing very well.

Thanks, yes, I'll check on the label, good idea that. I'm just intrigued.

I like especially Side B those it is not well recorded, but it´s some exiting Bird with his original quintet.

On Side A I would have preferred to hear only full tracks. I know it was only a rehearsal but it´s hard to listen to it that way.
