The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 Dexter Gordon - The Montmartre Collection, vol. 1 - (Black Lion/Polydor UK) Hm, I've only got vol 2 on LP. I think I may have vol 1 on CD. Does it contain For all we know But not for me Doxy Come rain or come shine which are on a CD called "For all we know"? MG Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 V. One: Devilette, For All We Know, Sonnymoon for Two, Doxy. V. Two: Like Someone in Love, Body & Soul, There Will Never Be Another You, Blues Walk. Oh, so the CD's got two extra tracks from the same session, but two are missing (and "There will never be" as a "bonus" track). I wonder if there are any other tracks issued elsewhere from this gig. MG Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 Seems like that's the case. I don't know if there are other tracks on LP or not; I've only seen these two volumes. The take of "Sonnymoon for Two" is badass; I recommend you pick up a vinyl when you see it (cost me about $5). Quote

blajay Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 NP: Harvey Milk--My Love Is Higher Than Your Assessment of What My Love Could Be (Chunklet reissue) Chuck, I'd be really interested to find if you hear any similarities between this album and that Leo Smith record. Might be a stretch, but I do. Both groups break into their respective genres, of course. The deal is my roommate is really into metal, so he we are sharing by spinning favorite discs. I think Shawn might be into this, coming from a metal perspective. Quote
Chalupa Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Mudhoney - Superfuzz Bigmuff - (Sub Pop OG) Incredible b-side. "Touch Me I'm Sick" ???? I think I have that around here somewhere. I purged a lot of that stuff during my mistaken change over from Vinyl to CD back in the late 80's early 90's. Alas. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 No, that was the single that predated Superfuzz. Side B is: "No One Has" / "If I Think" / "In 'n Out of Grace" Quote
