sidewinder Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Joe Farrell...............just what you need for a rainy day! Indeed ! Brilliant set - now playing disks 4 through 7. It was either that or the 13 hour re-run of the 1992 Election on BBC Parliament (best comedy on today's TV schedule ). Quote

alankin Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 The Complete Capitol Recordings of Woody Herman - disc 1-2 I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would. Quote
king ubu Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 earlier today: Discs 1-3 - wonderful! Dan Morgenstern provides a great introduction - I'm really having a hard time understanding why these recordings, this band, was bad-mouthed so often! This is royalty at work, and it gets quite clear why that's so! Quote
sidewinder Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) MJQ Complete Atlantic Studio, CD4. This is a very strong set - already one of my favourite Mosaics, and that is saying something ! Ron McMaster has also done a really great job with the sound. Nice to see fellow Board member Mike Weil getting a credit in the booklet too. Edited April 15, 2012 by sidewinder Quote
