sidewinder Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Max Roach Complete Mercury CD1. Very strong start to this set with great playing by the man himself, Kenny Dorham and Sonny Rollins. Was there ever anyone better at playing 3/4 time than Max Roach? Quote
mikelz777 Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 I'm with Cliff except I'm really, really, really, etc. enjoying Basie's Roulette Studio sessions. Quote

king ubu Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Sunday listening included discs 1 and 2 of the zombie Herman box I got a couple of weeks ago - great stuff on disc 1, some good on disc 2, plus the fun dixie and Nat Cole tracks... glad I got it this time! Also played the first two albums (disc 1 and a third of disc 2) from the Elvin set. Never made it farther into that one so far, just wasn't in the mood, but I plan to go on this time... Quote
