paul secor
Received the Hodges yesterday afternoon. Listened to part of disc one, & from that it sounds like I'm going to be very happy with the music I don't already have.

six string
I just finished listening to the first disc of the Don Pullen Mosaic Select. I had never heard any of his music afaik, but a friend of mine that I really respect highly recomended him, so I bought it today. Very exciting music to say the lease. More to come after I get better acquainted with it.
WarpedOrb
Of all my Mosaics I seem to go to the J.J. Johnson one the most; Elvin Jones second. My new, and newly OOP, Hodges is quite good but offers no surprises. The Lang/Venuti set is not so good and I'm selling that one for beer money. papsrus
Disc 2 of the Complete H.R.S. Sessions, which just arrived here a few days ago. So impressed with this one. Rex Stewart's "Cherry" (1940) is knocks-the-socks-off great -- slightly sad, slightly happy, easy swingin' ... beautiful.
