The sound does vary from take to take, but I think that's a function of the source. It generally sounds quite fine to me--much like the Dial, which I also liked. gregmo Quote

I have some of the original albums, and if the rest of the set is as good as those you're in for a treat. Also a LOT of great photos that you probably won't get anywhere else. Quote

I searched and found a new one from a seller for about 20 dollars more and got it.
