Fer Urbina
Nice Charleston video here. Hal McKusick is on tenor. F [Edit to add that the rest of musicians are, according to McKusick: Phil Olivella, clarinet Bernie Privin, trumpet Frank Rehak, trombone HM on tenor... Most likely Hank Jones on piano, Specs Powell, drums, Sam Shoobe or Trigger Alpert on bass.] Edited January 28, 2007 by Fer Urbina

AllenLowe
a little late here, but that 1928 trombonist is Mole. Definitely not Dorsey. Mole's sound and Mole's face. Any resemblance stylistically is because Dorsey got it from Mole.

Brownian Motion
I only recently got DSL, and so this is the first time I've paid any attention to this thread. Sorry to say that many of the videos herein spotlighted have been removed. I really enjoyed seeing Django and the Hot Club, but many of the big band numbers are gone. For those who like guitar, here's Mark O'Connor playing with Strength In Numbers--Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Sam Bush. O'Connor no longer plays guitar because of chronic shoulder bursitis--what a loss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV04niq-eYQ...ted&search=
