Big Al Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Y’know, that chat was a lot of fun. I mean, it was like being 13, and me & my buddies finding my dad’s old jazz records, putting ‘em on, and speaking the way most normal 13-yr-olds do (“Man, that BJP is one bad MF!” “Damn straight!” “GMFG!!!”) It’s rarely deep, but it’s tons o’ fun! I’ll be going back soon. I just hope Ron S will stick around when I arrive! Quote
Peter Johnson Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 If y'all want to pick a few in advance, I'll grab 'em and bring 'em back to work and join in tonight. What say you? How about (if nobody's sick of it) Blue Train, for starters? Anyone want to set a time? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 i'm not sure about tonight we are set for friday night ss1 Quote
Ron S Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I just hope Ron S will stick around when I arrive! Use some deoderant before coming in next time, and maybe I will. Quote
J.A.W. Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Does all this mean/imply that during your CD discussions the chatroom is more or less closed for people wanting to discuss other topics? Quote
Aggie87 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 During my previous visit all sorts of things were discussed, in addition to the music being played. I don't think it's a problem, personally. But there is also the ability to "create" other chat rooms within the Live Chat that exist simultaneously. So if you wanted to have a different discussion altogether, it's easy to do. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 money jungle was gonna be played...........but as the norm one MF ain't got it i was that MF Quote

wesbed Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 BFrank, CONN500 and SS1. They all make fun of me in the chatroom. However, I've been enjoying the weekly abuse. Quote

I s'pose, but this ain't one of them. This nightly thing is wide open, come & go as you please. Join us one night, won't you? But be ready to deal with a maturity level somewhere around a junior high level. And that's when we're sober. It only goes downhill from there! :rsmile: Quote
Big Al Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 What's Friday's playlist? Jack Wilson's EASTERLY WINDS, I hope! Quote

Poor Wes is right. We do make fun of him; but no one escapes abuse. In fact, I don't think he is teased anymore than I am or BF or SS1. It's all part of the fun. Last night, we were imagining all the places you might be jeepin' to, Wes. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Does all this mean/imply that during your CD discussions the chatroom is more or less closed for people wanting to discuss other topics? Hans visited us one evening and probably discovered the maturity level was that of a frat house. I think it helps that we all play the same cd; otherwise, the talk would meander into multiple directions. Maybe that wouldn't be bad at all. I would say, however, that you've got to lower your maturity level in order to enjoy what's going down. Otherwise, it would likely be dull. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 What's Friday's playlist? Jack Wilson's EASTERLY WINDS, I hope! I'm open to anything, but we've usually got a few people missing the selected music. This might restrict us to RVGs or Mosaics. We kind of decide the music on the wing then haggle over it for 15 minutes as we see if anyone is missing the disc. Ron S. apparently has to overcome some kind of surreal obstacle course at home in order to reach his precious hoard of jazz cds. BF remains alarmingly sober yet too willingly condescends down to our lower maturity levels--again without the stimulus of alcohol. (Not a good sign!) We'll forgive him once he gets his bottle of Scotch. Let's try and play stuff everyone has; otherwise, some of us will have to listen to their own tunes, while reading about "gmfg!" "bjmfp!" etc. If you've got an extensive music collection, this is the place to be! Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 BTW, did I happen to mention last night that Grant Green was a great guitar comper? Quote

Uncle Skid Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Jack Wilson's EASTERLY WINDS, I hope! Somebody once told me that was a good CD. He was right!! If Big Al is picking the music, better make sure you dust off your Styx CDs! Edited February 2, 2006 by Uncle Skid Quote

Listen, Dude, when you have only 7 jazz CDs to your name, you have to keep them well-hidden. Actually, I'm just a lazy MF (now you guys have ME usein' it). Hey, I DID join in the Stanley and Shirley Love Fest last night. And I STILL wanna know if Major Holley ever made it to Colonel. Quote
