J.A.W. Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 (edited) I love Barry Harris but this auction strikes me as a little nuts. ...especially since it's a currently available CD - at least in Japan. Hiroshi Tanno should be able to get it. Edited April 9, 2004 by J.A.W. Quote
wesbed Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 I payed about $50 for this set, last week, at Border's. They had it, I wanted it, and didn't feel like waiting for it. If I'm reading this eBay post correctly, this is the Columbia Hot Fives & Sevens Louis Armstrong box. Currently listed at $19.99 with a little less than 24 hours to go. >link< It could be a good price for somebody, unless the price jumps in the last couple of minutes. Quote

Tjazz Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 (edited) I'm sort of tootin my own horn here, but I thought this was crazy. I just sold two Japanese pressing Verve REISSUES of two Buddy DeFranco/Sonny Clark lps for a total of $140. REISSUES!!!!   Yeah, you really got some sweet buyers. http://cgi.netscape.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....4003324018&rd=1 http://cgi.netscape.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....4003324573&rd=1 Were these LPs re-issued at the same time as the CDs? wesbed Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 This ebay ad says the Hank Mobley Mosaic is out of print. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4007271102&rd=1 Currently $152.50. What will it be worth when it really does go OOP? Quote

What will it be worth when it really does go OOP? I can't say anything. Like a dumbass, not long ago I bid on an LP set that was still in print. Thad Jones or Parlan, I think. My max bid was about $20 over what it sold for. I realized this oversight before auction ended. Luckily, it ended up about $10 less than my max and it was stone mint. Someone got a nice deal on a Hill LP set a few days ago..$114. Asleep at the wheel again. Quote

Alec Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Is Stanley Turrentine's "ZT's blues: really this rare? Stanley Turrentine ZT's Blues I have it and it's not one of my favorites. I'll trade it for the Mosaic Set! Quote
jacknife Posted April 20, 2004 Author Report Posted April 20, 2004 Well, I'll try it again. I listed my ZT blues for a reasonable $75 buy it now ! It worked for Morgan's Rajah, can lightning strike twice? I don't get why anyone would pay so much for a single cd! Quote

Alec Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Hmm, brand new from Mosaic for $145.00, or almost new on ebay starting at $149? What to do, what to do ..... Ebay Stitt Quote
Tom in RI Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Concerning the Stanley Turrentine, ZT's Blues, I was trolling through some used cd's at a nondescpipt suburban music store when I found a copy ($7.00). I picked it up and put it down and went on, figuring, well, I have the Turrentine Mosaic so I must have this. Wrong, the session was originally issued under Art Taylor's name. I checked Half.com and someone had it listed there for $99. Of course, when I went back the next day to score it was gone (did you pick it up, .:Impossible?). A gracious board member who I related the story to sent a copy. Quote

Ebay Stitt I'd rather have it from Mosaic because if there's a problem they'll replace it. However, I've had very good experiences with this seller. Plus, you gotta love anybody whose address is the People's Republic of Cambridge. Quote
