mikeweil
Finally getting around to the fourth LP - this band swung!!! Minnie the Moocher is Dead - that's one of the tracks - and their version of Morton Gould's Pavane, which probably inspired Coltrane for his Impressions. Still with this set. I love Worktime. Even after getting on for 60 years it still knock me out. Great Rollins, Roach and some good tunes. Clunky
The Art Ensemble 1967/68 ------------------(nessa) currently playing disc C (numbers 2 &1 ) great music of course but the remastered sound (1993) doesn't show its age , great deal of space around the instruments so you really can hear very clearly what's goin' on. As i recall I didn't get this from Chuck but via Mosaic when they had a promotion of discounting non Mosaic discs if you purchased a box of theirs. In retrospect that was cheating as the music is totally priceless.
