It is mentioned at the sh forum that these Mike Taylor reissues are cut quite low.

Yes, possibly, I did turn my copy of 'Trio' up a bit. I also found the bass(es) recessed but that could be the original recording.

I've not listened to 'Pendulum' yet

Thanks.

...since the original was not in-stock at the record store nearby 🙂, I will check with the CD after I receive my package...

Yes, my local shop also didn't have an original...

Listening again now with the volume up another notch, sorry neighbours, and bass is definitely more present.

This has a forthcoming (apparently the first) reissue:

5020675000490_de25588c-d975-4197-89f2-f4

'Original' was the second release by Cadillac Records in 1973 and came about through the involvement of Mike Westbrook with the label - Mike Osborne was of course the fiery alto player in Mike's groundbreaking Concert Band and came to Cadillac with a duo recording with legendary pianist Stan Tracey. Cadillac founder John Jack naturally snapped it up!

Reissued for the very first time, remastered from the original tapes and available digitally.

Mike Osborne: saxophone
Stan Tracey: piano
Recorded April 1972, Surrey Hall, Stockwell, London

This looks very interesting.

Has anyone heard it before?  If so, care to share your impressions?  :)

Disregard the above.  Found this:

A welcome reissue (first on CD though) - earliest recording of Osborne/Tracey duo ('72) - will be a worthy addition to their duo Wigmore Hall concert from '74 (another Cadillac release & given CD Rx back in 2017).

Still hoping for the as yet unreleased (CD) 1976 duo concerts (Bracknell) originally released on Ogun as Tandem
