Indestructible!
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine (US) Beatles - Hey Jude (AUS) I'll take both of 'em, thankyouverymuch! And I learned something else... Sangrey has the same birthday as me (12/14)... just a few years earlier is all. I knew there was a reason I liked his posts! BruceH
"Quarter To Three"---U.S. Bonds Not bad. I expected a lot worse for some reason. (The early sixties are not known as a golden age of pop or rock music.)

BruceH
US: The Fleetwoods - Mr. Blue UK: Cliff Richard And The Shadows - Travelin' Light I didn't know either song but after a search and listen of both songs I recall having heard "Mr. Blue" before. "Mr.Blue" is a great tune!! One of the few doo-wop ballads that I actually like.

mikelz777
US: The Fleetwoods - Mr. Blue UK: Cliff Richard And The Shadows - Travelin' Light I didn't know either song but after a search and listen of both songs I recall having heard "Mr. Blue" before. "Mr.Blue" is a great tune!! One of the few doo-wop ballads that I actually like. It kind of makes me feel older than my present mindset knowing I was born in the doo-wop era. My sister-in-law isn't much help. Once we were talking about ages and she had one of those clarity/realization moments when she looked at me aghast and said, "You were born when Eisenhower was President!!". My sheepish response, "Yeah, well..uh... it was kinda near the end of his last term...". Edited July 15, 2008 by mikelz777

Shawn
I just went back and checked the Australia chart for my birthday: CCR - Up Around The Bend That helps heal the "Carpenters wound" a little bit. The British chart was an Elvis tune, so I did my best not to pay attention to that one either.

No, what really gives you the feeling of "old" is when you do the math and realize that by any reasonable standard you're closer to the day of your death than you are the day of your birth. Kinda puts you in the mood to let go of the shit that keeps you from being happy lest you spend the rest of your days in unnecessary misery.
