Another site also caught him using another account and username at a time when he was supposedly unable to participate on the board for some sensationalist reason. On the other hand, who knows. BERIGAN Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 One of the sadder stories I recall was a website several years ago(Around 1999?) that had many old Sherlock Holmes radio shows you could stream. My Mom used to check it out pretty often for updates, but there hadn't been any in awhile, then finally the Mother of the person who ran it posted that he had died. He was just some young guy in his 20's who was a huge fan of old radio. Quote

robviti Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) was mnytime the guy who posted that he lost 2 relatives at the wtc on 9/11, a claim that was later proved to be a lie? regarding the original theme of this thread, i've sometimes wondered if some clients who drop out of therapy without warning may have passed away. i know this is true of at least two of my clients in the past. it's not like the first idea that pops into a grieving family's minds is "what was his therapist's name? we should give him a call." i was grateful to have one widow call me with the sad news of her husband's death from a heart attack, because then i was able to attend his wake and pay my respects. Yes, that was one of the claims: two of his relatives were supposedly in the Tower. Right after 9/11, he also came on the Jazz Corner board as if ignorant of what happened, and posted the flight name of one of the planes that crashed into the Tower, claiming that his parents were on that flight. He asked people to help him understand what is going on. After eating up the huge emotional reaction, he let us know the happy news: unknown to him, his parents decided to change flights at the last minute. Quote

He was one of the most knowledgable people to participate in jazz forums and a truly good person. It appears that he did not post very much here. I first encoutered him on the ill fated Jazz Times forum, several years ago. Marc was a moderator and one of the best influences at All About Jazz. When he passed away, that board was never the same again. Many members of that board responded immediately with very heartfelt thoughts about him. I frequented rec.music.bluenote and had many exchanges with Dr Don Koldon. He was a recording engineer (check out his credits) and was living in Chicago. He left the board and kept up email conversations with me. He sent me some materials and then everything stopped. I eventually received and email from the family to let me know he had taken his life. Pay close attention to your comments. Quote

The Medical Examiner placed the time of her death as early morning which meant just after she dropped off their 2 year old son at the sitter. Quote

These events almost seem out of place in such a safe and positive environment. Somehow it reminds me of that line from that Muppets movie where a pirate dies and one of the Muppets exclaims "he can't be dead! This is a kids movie!" I mean, this is Organissimo!
