ejp626 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Like half the Western world, I am reading or rather rereading The Odyssey (the Lattimore translation). Somewhat less common, I am pairing it with Chakraborty's The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi. Quote

There's a quote about Albert Grossman asking a young venue staffer (iirc) to leave him and Dylan alone for a few minutes before the show. As he leaves the dressing room the assistant notices Grossman reaching into his bag for something, and when the assistant returns Dylan stumbles out of the bathroom in an altered state, followed by Grossman saying "Bob's ready to go now," or something to that effect. I think this is from the 1966 tour, though--will check tonight. Definitely common knowledge that Dylan was taking "a lot of medicine," as he described it, to keep up his busy pace in that period. jazzbo Posted August 17 Posted August 17 That D.A. series was fun, read them back in the '80s. Now Re-re-reading (maybe re-re-re-reading) Quote
Gheorghe Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Now I read a book with the original english title ”The Tenant”, by Freida McFadden. Of course I don´t read books in english, but in my native language Romanian, that´s how I bought it: "Chiriașa” ......that means „the tenant” Quote
