I have now read all of the Fletch books.  As I recall, the first one was far better than the others.

I read Lattimore's verse translation years ago.  Now, I'm trying E.V. Rieu's prose translation.

The author introduced the Flynn character in one of the Fletch books, and then wrote four books about him in a new series.  This is the last one.  Although the writing style is enjoyable, there isn't much here to recommend.

Madeleine Thien's The Book of Records and Samantha Harvey's Orbital

The Norths Meet Murder, first novel of the Mr. and Mrs. North series. Very well written with a sophisticated and droll 1941 NY humor. Interesting local patois and diction. Where we might say 'weird', they were saying 'screwy'.
