Larry Kart Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Just found out that board member David Gitin has passed. Quote
JSngry Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Oh geez....sad to hear that. My interactions with him here always left the impression of a kind & gentle spirit. And he was nice enough to pass along some positive things that I had said about Patti Waters on the board here to her directly, and that resulted in everybody's spirits being lightened and brightened. So yes, Rest In Peace, David, a peace worthy of that which I saw you strive to create in your life here. Ed S Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Sad news. I did not have many direct dealings with David - but I knew from his posts that his presence enriched this board and online community. Very Sad Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 David and I went back to Discount Records in Madison - 1970-73 I think. Quote
Steve Reynolds Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Came across as a kind man. I understood that a physical issue often made it difficult to type - maybe why his posts were often brief. I used to be fascinated by who he had seen live - I believe he was on jazz central station way back when this was the blue note board.RIP, Sir! Quote
Scott Dolan Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 I nevr got a chance to meet him in person, but he always came across as a top shelf individual. I wish his friends and family peace during this somber time. Quote
Joe Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 So sad to hear this. A true gentleman, and a fine poet. Quote
