JSngry
Oh yeah, pretty much the entire Brubeck/Desmond & Desmond solo catalog, live and studio. Some were better than others (in some cases a lot better than others), but the entire, ongoing experience proved to be illuminating, challenging, and ultimately caused more than one re-evaluation about some looooong held beliefs about that whole thing. jazzbo
Yes, got a great price (less than what Mosaic originally charged) for what is probably not played volumes, and the seller was ten minutes away so no shipping! Still reeling from my good luck.
mikeweil
Great deal! My favourite acquisitions were all the Mosaic sets I got through the year: both Ellingtons, Lionel Hampton, Woody Herman, Oliver Nelson, Bob Brookmeyer Select; and a box set from JSP with early New Orleans stuff after a recommendation from Chuck Nessa of one of the sessions included. Since my wife prefers swing and earlier jazz, we have plenty to listen to, and she requested that I play authentic swing all day long during her upcoming sixtieth birthday in April - very happy to oblige! bluesoul
The Rollins Village Gate box, the Earl Hines Mosaic set, and just last week the Sidney Bechet Bluebird Sessions box, which I've been looking forward to getting for a long time. Albums I enjoyed but haven't gotten around to buying yet - Willie & the Wheel and Derek Bailey's Ballads.
