Nice little article and interview with Lowe in yesterday's San Diego Union-Tribune...including information on the upcoming 94th birthday concert.  Not many people left that recorded with Bird.

I saw some reference to Laurel, MS recently and thought of Mundell Lowe.  I've seen him three times in the company of guitarist Mike Magnelli, and would like to see him again.  Thanks for posting the link to the article.

In addition to composing and arranging the masterpiece Satan in High Heels, Lowe arranged two very nice (short) crime jazz albums for RCA, with the amazing title TV Action Jazz!  (Vols. 1 and 2).
