Prompted by some Woody Shaw discussion on another thread:

Now listening to Love Dance (Muse, 1976), my favorite Woody Shaw album. Check out this insane band: Woody, Billy Harper, René McLean, Steve Turre, Joe Bonner, Cecil McBee (who is on fire!!!), Victor Lewis, and Guilherme Franco. Music bursting at the seams with vitality, totally "of it's time" but also timeless.

That is a great album. My LP is a bit battered but the music shines through

Some really good broadcast material on this 2CD set, including a prototype ‘100% Proof’ with his ‘Commonwealth Jazz Orchestra’, which is somewhat revelatory (as Simon Spillett also points out in his notes).
