Rabshakeh
Operation Rhino - Fete De Politique Hebdo This one has a unique sound for the mid 1970s french scene that I think looks ahead to some of what went on in the electro/acoustic edge of the improv world in the early 00s. The late Itaru Oki is on it somewhere in the mix. I can’t pick him out though. Henry Franklin - The Skipper One of my favourites from Black Jazz, with a nice edge from the horns, which get pretty furious at times. Kenny Climax is a great name for a guitar player. HutchFan
Sweet Basil Trio - St. Thomas (Evidence) Cedar's one of my guys, but I only recently heard this particular disc for the first time. I shouldn't have waited so long. It's a doozy. RC plays well, but the Cedar Walton - Billy Higgins hookup is just out of this world. It really is ridiculous. ... Listening to this music, I can't help but think that Walton & Higgins deserve to be regarded as one of the LEGENDARY partnerships in jazz, right up there with Prez & Billie, Coltrane & Elvin, Mingus & Dannie, and all the rest.  Edited October 23, 2020 by HutchFan

Picked up from Dan, if I remember correctly. 1 hour ago, BillF said: Hopefully back over here doing his usual stuff before long. Bitches Brew box, CD1. ‘Double Image’ material.
