Here are the tracks. There is no exact rec. date listed in the liners. But IMO its the same as the Peacock lane CD from Freshsound (FSCD-1016) which has listed as recording date December 1956

Collectors have about 10 hours of taped material from the Peacock date. Maybe one day these will be officially or semi-officially released.

A classic which I've always liked.:tup

Saw bassist Earl May at a much later date, but not so late that I can remember who he was with.^_^

Dizzy Gillespie, mid 1970s?

i think I’ve seen May too but for the life of my can’t recall who with. It wasn’t in the UK though.

Probably in a Frank Foster orch at Wigan in the 90s.

Those names who cropped up as sidemen! Perhaps the most notable was Walter Bishop Jr in a 1980s Woody Herman orch. (I'm sure about that one!)

I’m sure I would have remembered if Walter Bishop Jr had been with Woody when I him but don’t think he was. First time seeing Woody in 1978 it was Lyle Mays. I saw him again at Ronnies in 1980/81 (a performance which was live televised) but can’t recall who was on piano.

Bill, You asked if I liked the Frank Foster on Vogue from the early 50's. The answer is yes. This along with the Foster Quintet on Blue Note and the Prestige recordings with Elmo Hope are all very good.
