Starting off the quiet this neighborhood has on Saturday and Sunday mornings with Melissa Aldana "Filin" Blue Note cd, just released yesterday. I really like her work and she has been touring overseas for months and is on the top of her game. This is very mellow, building slowly, and I remember from my old band days how difficult it was for me to manufacture and maintain such beauty, and I really admire that skill. The album is dedicated to ballads, inspired and mostly following the Cuban style known as "filin." The recording is excellently engineered. Quote
