Referentzhunter Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 A compilation of some of the best tracks (in my opinion) from the Old Tunes tapes. This mix was inspired by the idea of an official re-release of these old recordings, which was actually discussed between BOC and Warp Records at one time. Unfortunately, such a thing never came to be. Quote

jazzbo Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 A good show from Winterland right after the Dead returned from their Egypt shows. If I have one complaint it may be. . . too much slide guitar here and there. Grateful Dead “Road Trips Vol.1 Number 4–From Egypt with Love” disc 1 Quote

Niko Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 Pim mentioned driving home from Tilburg in another thread today... Did that four times this week and now it's enough... It's not the prettiest of cities, buildings are strangely small - as seen in the picture- and the edges are still rough and there's nothing glorious about that... But the city does have one of the best bands playing South African Jazz in the Low countries, the various incarnations of Eric van der Westen's quintet... Quote
Rabshakeh Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 The Last Poets - Chastisement I hadn't really listened to the Last Poets before other than their first two records and Hustlers Convention. This is surprisingly terrible. Quote

I've listened to a few more of them this evening. I think after the second record most of them left so it wasn't really the same mix. There's a really sharp decline. Reeeaaally sharp. Now listening to this one: Obviously not the world's greatest record either. But not terrible. I find it hard to put myself in the mindset of Bob Thiele as he set about persuading a dying Louis Armstrong that he needed to record a version of "The Creator Has A Master Plan". Quote
