Because I heard Henderson before I heard George Coleman and I heard George Coleman after he had recorded "Amsterdam after Dark"...... But memory is not so good after so many decades. Anyway, I had heard and seen Joe Henderson on TV and thanks to the forum community I know that it was 1977 in San Francisco, no piano player, but guitar. Quite unknown drummer and guitarist for me, but the bassist was a great one: Ratso Harris.....he was outa sight and I payed most attention to Joe and to that great Ratso Harris..... Quote

I only saw Joe Henderson live once, in December of 1986. He had Charlie Haden and Al Foster, and I cannot remember who on piano. Quote
