I probably would be fine never listening to "Siesta" again but have to hear "Sketches of Spain" and "Porgy and Bess" and especially "Miles Davis +19" over and over as the years go by. That is music that completely absorbs me, the charts, the sound of the ensemble and the soloist all so intriguing. Quote

This sort of stuff strikes me as not much more than a modern day hi fi test record, or an evolution of ECM. Not for me, but I like it a bit more than some "jazz" records I've heard on ACT etc. Quote

I am not a fan of the tiny writing for the sidemen on the cover of "Solid". I get the design aspect of using the strings as lined paper but because it disappears into shadow for Elvin Jones' name, it doesn't make sense to me. I would have written them across the bottom in a larger font size. I actually didn't even know those names were there until you posted this large cover shot. Â Quote
