adh1907
He’s playing Kings Place London on Nov 17. I may attend but ticket prices seem steep, at around £30.

Have you heard the long piano piece 'Permutations For Solo Piano' on 'That/Not'? Very Feldman-esque to my ears 6 minutes ago, adh1907 said: He’s playing Kings Place London on Nov 17. That's the one I might try and get to

I told Tyshawn after a show earlier this year I’d love to hear Pillars live. He smiled.

BFrank
SFJAZZ had an open house today and we were allowed backstage to see what it's like. One of the walls is lined with signed drum heads from those who played there

It feels like his pace has slowed quite a bit and he has moved more towards jazz releases (that don't really move me) and away from his compositional stuff. He just won a Pulitzer Prize! https://pirecordings.bandcamp.com/community?sid=1460391&st=sm
T.D.
Looking at Sorey's own website https://www.tyshawnsorey.com/in-the-news the recent (last 2 or so years, say) focus seems to be on composition. I don't know enough to comment on whether his pace has slowed.

AllenLowe
Tyshawn is a brilliant musician and composer. I am glad he is doing well as he has seemed, in the past, to be a troubled soul, but he is teaching at U Penn, has all kinds of commissions, and, as we see, has just won the Pulitzer. clifford_thornton
Hell of a player, hell of a composer. Nice guy in my experience. Congratulations to him!
