Dmitry
In the Times’ 2017 profile, Willner lamented changes he saw in the passionate connections people felt with the strange and wonderful fringes of culture. “Weird isn’t in right now,” he said. ““I don’t know what inspires people now,” he said. “Maybe they don’t need to be inspired in that way. Do these last two generations have heroes? I’m not sure they do. I go to Avenue A now and listen to what people are talking about, and it isn’t culture. When John Lennon died I couldn’t go to work for two days. I wonder if they have someone that they look at like that — an author, a poet, whatever. Those are people who made us what we are. … But then again, were we right?” Yes, indeed.

Jim Duckworth
I met him at the offices of Saturday Night Live where a band I was in was discussing appearing on the show (we did not get the gig). He complained pointedly about musical guest Ricki Lee Jones as I picked up a script and read "I'm Gumby, Damnit!" which did not read funny. I really only knew him from that Nino Rota collection pictured above. He was exremely pleasant and really patient with us.
Teasing the Korean
The William S Boroughs and Disney albums were really great too. Willner was an early proponent of the lounge aethetic several years before the 90s revival.

JSngry
Oh, I need to be consistent about this whole virtual montage of people coming together to sing.... If you have to do that type of thing, get a better song. Please. Prove Voltaire wrong.
Rooster_Ties
Carla Bley & Bootsy Collins, with Steve Swallow, and others. I assume Hal had a hand in this too (from Night Music)...
