Philly is "youse guys", I don't remember hearing "youse" without "guys".   Pittsburgh was/is "yins", Huntsville, Ala. was/is "y'all".   Don't remember what it was/is in the other places I've lived (Cincinnati, OH and West Palm Beach, FLA).

It must have been a foot or more over here.  But things have been cleaned up fairly well.  I was out on the roads once. 

I've seen people playing in the snow!

I’m hearing that our area is getting close to two feet. I’ll have a lot of snow to clear when I get home.

A bit of sleet, but we got out of our hilly subdivision outside Chattanooga yesterday without an issue. When a real storm hits, this area can be shut down for several days.

We have had about 13" in the last 24 hours, and I've attacked it with shovel three times, kept it to an accessible and exit-able status with effort. Actually, I confess it feels good. Now I have earned a break to listen.

Nothing but ice, sleet and freezing rain that amounted to under an inch. The yard torch did the trick. I don't know if any of you have one of these but for shit like this it's literally the best tool for getting rid of it. No salty mix to mess with the dogs, no back breaking labor (because a shovel on ice sucks bad, real bad). Just attach the torch to a propane tank, put it on wheels and flame away.

I teach at a community college, and Tuesday will the be second day of cancelled classes.

I know its not exactly close to what others are going thru but here in Plant City, a 24-hour temperature drop of 36 degrees.

There's also persistent indications of a legit possibility of actual snow in this latitude this weekend, and it will be even colder for sure.

What is certain is that as we come up on the end of our 10th year in central Florida, we have never had to put blankets on the horses so many times. My wife's rule is <40, all six get them and we are doing that TFN.

I’m at the Fort Lauderdale airport on my way home. It was really good. If anything, it was just a bit too much Jazz. Going to gigs from 9:00 AM to midnight for 7 straight days is more live jazz than I’ve ever seen at any other point in my life. Even Newport is only 3 days. 😀😀

Also, I have to admit, some of these cruise people, especially some of the older women, can be assholes. 😀😀

LOL! With that many hours of jazz every day, I could see passengers start to throw jazz musicians overboard after a while!😅

3 steps to the door. We got over two feet but it drifted, so it's hard to get an exact number. Luckily, it was light and fluffy, so my Honda snowblower ate it up. Honda makes (made?) the best snowblowers. They throw the snow a long way. That's the biggest issue with most snowblowers is they don't throw it far enough.

Oh yes Kevin we all feel very sorry for you being on a cruise with tropical temperatures, mixed drinks and live jazz music. Poor you! 🤪

I grew up in Massachusetts & lived most of my life up in New England. This is far from the worst storm I've cleaned up after. In fact, I doubt it would even crack the top 20.

Funny thing is, we moved up to Maine near the water to get away from storms like this. This snow was an outlier. We've been here 9 years and never really had a snow storm that dumped anything over a foot. The ocean water temps have generally protected us from this. There have been storms where we've had a slushy mix while 5 miles inland got a foot. This storm was a fluke in that it dumped a bunch of snow because it was over the ocean - a very unusual occurrence.

We never see these amounts of snow in the Netherlands. We also got the tempering influence of the warmer North Sea. Though I’m not looking for extremes like these, I really miss some more winter like weather here sometimes. The winter mostly feels like an extended autumn most of the times with boring grey rainy days.
