T.D. Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago I just logged into the forum to start a thread. Thanks for getting one going. RIP. Sad loss, sorely missed indeed. I've gotten out of touch with popular culture, but I loved the old SCTV shows, which is how I got familiar with her. Plus more recently the "mockumentary" films Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind. Quote
JSngry Posted 17 hours ago Author Report Posted 17 hours ago Shitt's Creek was repeatedly on point too Quote

clifford_thornton Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago she was great (as is her sister Mary Margaret). RIP. Bummer news... Quote
Ken Dryden Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I tried watching the first episode of Schitt's Creek and I'm not sure that I made it through all the way. It just didn't make me laugh, Quote
Late Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Who else could make authentic appearances in both Best In Show and Home Alone? She was excellent in Schitt's Creek—perhaps the very reason to watch the series. She also added insight to the John Candy documentary on Netflix. An enormous talent and genuine spirit. 💔 Quote
sgcim Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago This is beyond sad. I'd watch any movie with her or any of the other members of SCTV in it, and they'd always be the high point of the film. We've lost Guy Caballero, Johnny LaRue, and now Lola Hatherton. Melonville will never be the same. RIP, Ms. O'Hara. Quote
JSngry Posted 14 hours ago Author Report Posted 14 hours ago I would even watch her commercials and smile. A genuine spirit indeed. Quote
HutchFan Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago R.I.P. to someone who consistently made me laugh. Quote
Milestones Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago R.I.P. I liked her fairly brief but funny spot in Scorsese's After Hours (a highly underrated film). Quote

I had forgotten that she was in After Hours. That movie freaked me out when it came out. It just seemed like the thins that happened to Griffin Dunne could have happened to any of us back then. As you can imagine, her shouting "Kevin" in Home Alone, hit home for me. I tried Schitt's Creek but couldn't get into it. I'll have to give it another go. Quote
