I've gotten out of touch with popular culture, but I loved the old SCTV shows, which is how I got familiar with her.

Plus more recently the "mockumentary" films Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind.

I tried watching the first episode of Schitt's Creek and I'm not sure that I made it through all the way. It just didn't make me laugh,

Who else could make authentic appearances in both Best In Show and Home Alone? She was excellent in Schitt's Creek—perhaps the very reason to watch the series.

She also added insight to the John Candy documentary on Netflix.

An enormous talent and genuine spirit.

This is beyond sad. I'd watch any movie with her or any of the other members of SCTV in it, and they'd always be the high point of the film.
We've lost Guy Caballero, Johnny LaRue, and now Lola Hatherton. Melonville will never be the same.

I had forgotten that she was in After Hours. That movie freaked me out when it came out. It just seemed like the things that happened to Griffin Dunne could have happened to any of us back then.

As you can imagine, her shouting "Kevin" in Home Alone, hit home for me.

I tried Schitt's Creek but couldn't get into it. I'll have to give it another go.

yeah, excellent show though after the first few seasons I stopped following it (just moved on to other things). Probably due for a rewatch or at least catch up.

I remember seeing her in the audience (along with other siblings) for a Mary Margaret O'Hara concert & it seemed like they were a wildly supportive family. Thinking of them all during this time.

I liked the show a lot, can understand why someone else wouldn’t.  BUT she was incredible in it… indisputable.  How did she even come up with that accent.
