T.D. Posted Friday at 07:43 PM Report Posted Friday at 07:43 PM I just logged into the forum to start a thread. Thanks for getting one going. RIP. Sad loss, sorely missed indeed. I've gotten out of touch with popular culture, but I loved the old SCTV shows, which is how I got familiar with her. Plus more recently the "mockumentary" films Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind. Quote
JSngry Posted Friday at 07:59 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 07:59 PM Shitt's Creek was repeatedly on point too Quote

clifford_thornton Posted Friday at 08:58 PM Report Posted Friday at 08:58 PM she was great (as is her sister Mary Margaret). RIP. Bummer news... Quote
Ken Dryden Posted Friday at 08:59 PM Report Posted Friday at 08:59 PM I tried watching the first episode of Schitt's Creek and I'm not sure that I made it through all the way. It just didn't make me laugh, Quote
Late Posted Friday at 10:30 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:30 PM Who else could make authentic appearances in both Best In Show and Home Alone? She was excellent in Schitt's Creek—perhaps the very reason to watch the series. She also added insight to the John Candy documentary on Netflix. An enormous talent and genuine spirit. 💔 Quote
sgcim Posted Friday at 10:34 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:34 PM This is beyond sad. I'd watch any movie with her or any of the other members of SCTV in it, and they'd always be the high point of the film. We've lost Guy Caballero, Johnny LaRue, and now Lola Hatherton. Melonville will never be the same. RIP, Ms. O'Hara. Quote
JSngry Posted Friday at 10:58 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 10:58 PM I would even watch her commercials and smile. A genuine spirit indeed. Quote
HutchFan Posted Saturday at 12:33 AM Report Posted Saturday at 12:33 AM R.I.P. to someone who consistently made me laugh. Quote
Milestones Posted Saturday at 03:34 AM Report Posted Saturday at 03:34 AM R.I.P. I liked her fairly brief but funny spot in Scorsese's After Hours (a highly underrated film). Quote

It just seemed like the things that happened to Griffin Dunne could have happened to any of us back then. As you can imagine, her shouting "Kevin" in Home Alone, hit home for me. I tried Schitt's Creek but couldn't get into it. I'll have to give it another go. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted Saturday at 02:47 PM Report Posted Saturday at 02:47 PM After Hours is cool indeed. Quote
JSngry Posted Saturday at 03:30 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 03:30 PM Her rhythm in Shitt's Creek was beyond virtuosic. It almost always was. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted Saturday at 04:43 PM Report Posted Saturday at 04:43 PM yeah, excellent show though after the first few seasons I stopped following it (just moved on to other things). Probably due for a rewatch or at least catch up. I remember seeing her in the audience (along with other siblings) for a Mary Margaret O'Hara concert & it seemed like they were a wildly supportive family. Thinking of them all during this time. I liked the show a lot, can understand why someone else wouldn’t. BUT she was incredible in it… indisputable. How did she even come up with that accent. Quote
