  1. Not nearly as tiresome as still having days where 150+ people are dying in this country
  2. Glad to hear it's good, it's on my list for the next Bandcamp day The one I can't stop listening to and being continually intrigued by is Corey Smythe's Accelerate Every Voice https://corysmythepyroclastic.bandcamp.com/album/accelerate-every-voice Enjoyed this, thanks for posting
  3. He's nothing of the sort. A survivor due to the excellent care of the NHS that his party has spent years undermining. A narcissist of the first degree and a lying racist with it. None of that's political just a matter of record.
  4. 'Dansere' is a great album from a great band, all of their recordings are right up there. I agree with everyone's high regard for 'Karuna Supreme'.
  5. Well it may be an unfounded fear but I can see a scenario where conversations starting there will obviously be followed there and a parallel discussion group would emerge. The board has shown a marked decline in members and traffic in the last few years (an impression, not based on any data) and anything that could potentially lead to fewer interactions here will also potentially undermine viability eventually. Again, I stress if it's what individuals wish to do then so be it I have no argument with it in principle just fear for the ramifications here, that's all.
  6. Not for me. I choose to go nowhere near Facebook. As much as I enjoy this board I can live with the very occasional drop outs - worse things happen. But if other folk wish to I can't honestly how or why it could be stopped. I do fear it would be the start of a slippery slope.
  7. As someone who often finds myself considering US purchases from Discogs this is interesting as $25 is fairly standard ask US to UK so I'd assumed it as a fairly accurate representation of cost rather than inflated to deter. Mind you with that cost to Canada it's got to be close to actual cost surely? It works as a deterrent for me definitely, it's got to be a particularly desirable item to consider paying that on postage, especially as there's a good chance of getting hit for customs at 20% of value+postage total. I always mean to check the actual postage cost on the item when it arrives but never remember.
  8. I agree, that was a great band, all of their albums are worth listening to in depth meanwhile... Rashied Ali Quintet - First Time Out, Live at Slugs 1967 [Survival Records]
  9. Let's not forget his essential contribution to Gruppo Di Improvvizone Nuova
  10. Yeah, that was a surprise to me too
  11. That's really interesting to see, thank you
  12. That was a very special night indeed. I forgotten about Jean Carn which is odd because at the time her untrailled [?] appearance was a bit of a cherry on top of everything else. What a band
  13. I had forgotten about that Okazaki thanks for the reminder. Fwiw I rate both the Reed And Paul albums, nice buys
  14. Here we are again. Today's haul Liberty Ellman - Water Walkers Ill Considered - 9 Lauren Kinsella - Kinsella/Challenger/Davis Feldman - piano violin viola cello (Apartment House) Amurtha Kidambi & Lea Bertucci - End of Softness Aisha Orazbayeva - Music for violin alone
  15. This is my take too. Always sounds the same whenever it arrives, I've found. Some waiting only heightens the anticipation or I forget about it completely and end up with a nice surprise. If I want it immediately I'll stream or Bandcamp. So many more options these days. And Bandcamp as well, can even own it then if that's your itch that needs a scratch.
  16. James Ellroy - This Storm
  17. I've had it for a while now. Well worth having, a strong follow up to the first quartet album which I love. Just need them to play London after the madness subsides...
  18. Thanks, i'll take a listen

    Ahmad Jamal

    Fascinating listen, thank you
  20. I have this https://www.discogs.com/Andr%C3%A9-Vida-Brud-Volumes-I-III-1995-2011/release/3307766 Not listened to it in some time, remember it as a difficult, challenging listen which isn't a bad thing in this house but does require the right moment. I need to revisit once my bust CD player is fixed. Which Simmons are you listening to?
  21. Mr Braufman tells me there's UK/European distro too, so that's me sorted
  22. New Direction For The Arts - Free Form Suite [Three Blind Mice]
  23. unreserved recommendation for the music and the reissue from me
  24. Ist - Lodi [Confront Recordings} RIP Simon H. Fell
  25. Still to open mine that arrived last week
