Christmas Jazz

I know one track from the Scott Hamilton - is the string orchestra on the whole disc?

I welcome any recommendation, not only jazz, but blues and soul as well. Will look for the Huey Smith next season.

Yes, it's a "with strings" Christmas CD and it's what makes it a late night favorite in my house.

Thanks - After listening to a few samples, I ordered this for next year. :)

I almost ordered the vinyl but it's missing 3 tracks that are on the CD.

Just ordered a copy - I always forgot about that one. Chances are it might arrive only in January.

This one is among my new discs this year - Mayfield has a wonderful trumpet sound here!

Terrific, glowing music in concert and a delight on CDs, both Volumes I and Volume 2:  AylerXmas_II_Panels_Front2.jpg

yeah, those Ayler Xmas CDs are excellent. I saw the Witches & Devils version of this once, with McPhee, Cline, Corsano, and I'm blanking on who the bassist was. Really wonderful.

Anyone familiar with Joey Defrancesco Christmas--Home for the Holidays. It's two discs, and it's not bad--just been delving into a bit.  There's a smoking version of "We Three Kings."

In fact, I'm playing some enjoyable Christmas downloads by Organissimo tonight.

I am enjoying Tony Bennett's A Swingin' Christmas--from 2008 with the Basie Big Band.  I don't think I've ever heard such heartache in "Christmas Time is Here."
