Michele Rosewoman & Quintessence - Contrast High (Enja, 1989)

Saw her in the mid80s with her New Yor-Ruba Big Band in a club setting .... an unforgetable experience ....

Is this good? I don't know it.  A wee bit Hellraiser.

[Hans Koller Free Sound Nome] I like it a lot. But I've only recently started to explore this area [Euro jazz-rock/fusion] and am no expert. FWIW, it's mostly live performances of tunes from Kunstkopfindianer, which oddly has the same cover art (1974, long before Hellraiser). You can find both albums on Youtube; I don't know about streaming services. They've been reissued on Be! Records, which may be a questionable operation (see the  Balver Höhle thread under "Recommendations").

Nice CD. This is the only affordable way to get McDuff's "Hot Barbeque" on CD. The only other CD releases were in Japan and they are out-of-print and expensive these days.

Am I the only one who is having my last post showing up in the edit box? I post to a thread and when I go to post something new, my old post is sitting there. I have to delete it to post something new. Very annoying.

One of my favorite rock albums. Really nice new edition--the Plangent Process really works.

What NYC musicians had to do during the lockdown of clubs.

It may have damaged their income, but judging from this album it left their jazz talents untouched.:)
