R.I.P. 

His playing was so clear and structured that I transcribed some of his solos for my conga students to show them how to build a solo. 

My personal favourite are his exchanges with Kenny Clarke on Kenny Burrell's first Blue Note LP.

He was on my first jazz album, Dizzy's Gillespiana (paired with The Carnegie Hall Concert).  I never had the pleasure of seeing him perform, but he is always a welcome presence on record.  Thank you for the music, Mr. Camero, and rest in peace.

he was one of my favourites among percussionists. The first solo I heard on the track "Broadway" on the Parker LP "Summit Meeting at Birdland". 

He also was in a Dizzy´s Dreamband from the early 80´s …..

Yes, those exchanges were great. And I think there was also a full track with nothing else than drums-congas.
