A good show from Winterland right after the Dead returned from their Egypt shows. If I have one complaint it may be. . . too much slide guitar here and there. Grateful Dead “Road Trips Vol.1 Number 4–From Egypt with Love” disc 1

Jazz From Blue Lake streams 24/7

You bet, appreciate you checking it out. The Arno Marsh at the very bottom is from 1983, shortly after I started here at Blue Lake. It's a live hit from a club in Grand Rapids called "Pier 28" and was one hour out of entire weekend that Arno had at the club, including a 3 or 4 tenor melee to end it all. Randy plays drums, the wonderful soul brother Eddie Russ is on piano and the bassist is Jeff Beavan, a Grand Rapids guy. Check out Arno playing like 5 choruses on "Body and Soul." Also down there is the Blue Lake Faculty at The White Sands which included trumpeter Louis Smith. His feature on "Oleo" opens the second hour of that, I believe. The Louis Bellson Explosion and Blue Lake Monster with Marcus Belgrave are also highlight the archive. -

My wife and I sat next to him for that VVC show. A true gentleman as well as, obviously, a wizard.

Thanks for this. I believe the one at the very bottom ... Randy Marsh's Pop, Arno Marsh, is with Organissimo. A great set that I snagged in the past. actually I see the Organissimo with Arno Marsh higher up .. so this is more Arno? That should be great.

What Classical Music Are You Listening To?

A compilation of some of the best tracks (in my opinion) from the Old Tunes tapes. This mix was inspired by the idea of an official re-release of these old recordings, which was actually discussed between BOC and Warp Records at one time. Unfortunately, such a thing never came to be.

Sounds pretty good, tenor sax stands out.

how does it sound? Oh yes that’s how I got my Rules of Freedom copy from a record store in Berlin. I didn’t check Discogs and thought I bought a modern legit reissue. I was in a record store after all. Then at night in my hotel I found out it was a bootleg
