Does anyone have any favourites by the core players in the "West Coast jazz" category (Bud Shank, Shorty Rogers, Bob Cooper etc) from 1975 onwards? We had a nice discussion on the excellent Atlas records a while back but I would be interested in other recommendations. Probably for ease of use, it may be a good idea to exclude Art Pepper's obvious post prison leader dates.

A British group that never broke through, but they had a lot of energy and some pretty decent songs. This is probably their best.

Cannonball was really cooking in the 60s-70s. I don't understand why there haven't been any meaningful retrospective box sets or compilations of his work from this period.

I love how so many of the late sixties/early seventies organ groovers featured then-current pop and soul tunes. These slow and sexy workouts morphing into head-bobbing burners are emblematic of why I love the genre.

Yes it incorporates an imo very good ADC. I now use the balanced XLR output of the phono preamp, but I used to use it with my DAC as at the time that had the best cabling. . . . The sound when routed to and from the DAC is very very close to the analog output I now use. This thread is so interesting. I'm here listening to his mindmelting take on What's Going On, on his late Prestige album of the same name. I say it belongs on a podium next to Earland's More Today Than Yesterday.

I preordered back in January and it shipped today.

I watched Nobody 2 on Netflix today. Nowhere near as good as the first film.
