  2. Musicmasters Digital CIJD 20126z/27X - Benny Carter American Jazz Orchestra " Central City Sketches" - rec. 1987 - Engineer: Gegory K. Squires
  3. This again: Enrico Pieranunzi - Live in Paris (Challenge, 2005) with Hein Van de Geyn & André "Dédé" Ceccarelli Excellent!
  4. I think you meant a faster tape speed would = more tape/second.
  5. What Jim said. KB is arguing that 7.5 inches of tape is more tape than 15 inches of tape. When you see 911 recordings the tapes move super slow - because they are maximizing capacity of reels / efficiency of recording calls.
  6. Don Costa And His Orchestra – The Sound Of The Million Sellers
  7. They're sitting on the drum cases.
  8. Privat Production KSCD 0900 - Herb Geller " Birthday Party At NDR's Rolf Liebermann Hall - rec. 2008
  9. Today
  10. I don't think so...15 inches of tape is more than 7.5 inches of tape, right? A slower tape speed gives you more total capacity, but that's because you're using less tape per song (or whatever).
  11. Buster Williams Quartet - Lost in a Memory (TCB Records, 1999)
  12. Some photos of Buster: with Herbie Hancock & Billy Hart I'm sure that many of you have already seen it, but I'd be remiss if I didn't recommend Buster's documentary: Buster Williams Bass to Infinity.
  13. Managed to get out to see Gary on Wed. night, even though the weather was pretty lousy. It was a very small crowd - maybe 20 people, but they played their hearts out anyway. Will be going back on Sat. and the vibe will surely be livelier.
  14. Chico Freeman - Peaceful Heart, Gentle Spirit (Contemporary, 1980) I recently bought some new speakers, and this is one of the LPs that I brought to the hi-fi shop to the try out various models. I know this LP inside-out, and the AQ is outstanding.
  15. Kudos to the sax section here.
  16. wow. And a young Michael Bisio, to boot!
  17. Completely from another world, but I always enjoyed how he play the Nancy Wilson gig. As well as the Jazz Crusaders
  18. Where's Soulpope when you need him
  19. Technically, a slower tape speed would = more tape per second of music recorded.
