I first heard of her when I bought biographical novel called "Waiting For Robert Capa". I'd bought it because I liked he title and the cover photo. It's pretty good. (I've also read a pretty bad "Young Adult" book called "One Last Shot" which is sort of a poem. ) Gerda died in the arms of Ted Allen a man I've met but before I'd ever heard of Gerda so I never asked him about her. A friend of mine who'd made a film about Ted told me she was the love of his life.

I still don't understand how the courts are granting ownership to someone who doesn't own the item. If they can do this for valuable artwork, what's to stop them from doing it with something like real estate? People make millions & millions of dollars on real estate. Are builders going to start getting a cut?

yeah, it's not like artworks in which -- and this is a fairly recent development -- estates or artists can make claims on a percentage of sales via auction houses. Doubt Blue Note recouped costs on a poorly selling album like True Blue in the first place. It's staggering to think of paying $7500 for an LP (or even $2000. Or even $1000).

These Apple Music compilations are head-scratchers to me. I guess I don't see why they think a compilation will get more plays than the actual LPs that they pulled the music from (in this case, "Grant's First Stand" & "Stop & Listen")... unless it's a way to avoid paying mechanical royalties to the artists?

Yesterday I was greatly surprised I have not this one: I was ready to swear I had in my collection, actually I was looking for this one to play! Will buy it after the vacation, definitely. Now:

One of the 85th Anniversary UHQCD from Blue Note Japan mastered by Kevin Gray, Sonny Clark “My Conception.” Previous cover of this album: An all-star band. I keep hearing Bud Powell every time I listen to Sonny Clark.
