  5. Did he ever issue an LP? Can't find anything on discogs.
  6. Duke Ellington and his Orchestra “Live at the Plaza, Volume II” Columbia LP Recorded in 1959, released in 1973. This was recorded at a party for the record label at the Plaza Hotel. (The first “volume” released was the Miles Davis Sextet’s performance). I love that Jimmy Rushing and Billie Holiday each do a guest vocal here.
  7. January got away with me, but enjoying catching up with this one now. I'm actually digging the Sanborn (for what it is). And time listening to Warne is always time well-spent.

  13. I have the 32 Jazz CD with a different cover, but I like the original Muse cover better.
  14. Sullivan Fortner, Southern Nights
  15. I had forgotten about this expensive cd I ordered from Japan* until I saw a picture posted showing someone else was listening to it. I think I only played it once before, I like it, I like Jose James, a cool singer. This one is sort of a tribute to Erykah Badu, with a cover reminiscent of one of Alice Coltrane’s album covers. Jose James "On and On” *Of course now I see that amazon has it much less expensively. Ah well.
  16. I'm a fan of this oddball one, from beat poet Jack Spicer: https://citylights.com/general-fiction/tower-of-babel/
  17. Interesting that the UK list is different than the US one. Perhaps it’s always been that way but I never noticed it.
  18. Adaptive Dance, huh, I had no idea! Look forward to reading these, thanks for the link.
  19. I am thinking about offering a broadcast every week or so to those interested . I have hundreds of Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz shows, in addition to other NPR and APR/PRI and other broadcasts. Share your email via pm to obtain the Piano Jazz with Ed Bickert. There is a three day limit to download once you receive it. Maybe others will make similar offers, but I am not expecting anything in return.
  20. I assume the original point about mysteries was more about Agatha Christie type stuff rather than detective novels.
  21. Continuing on with more Quinichette. “Paul Quinichette plays Quincy Jones Arrangements” Lonehill Jazz cd This reissues “Moods” with bonus material. Nice Basie like music. 300×296 7.09 KB
